About us

All are welcome to the church for a life-changing experience, to discover many wonderful people and, as a small church, you can settle in quickly if you decide to join us. We will be delighted to welcome you to our Sunday service at 11:00 AM and to the many other events and activities in the life of our church.

Our church is multi-racial and multinational, with a desire to see a healthy and thriving community. We work to reach people with the message of Jesus by building strong relationships, sharing valuable resources and nurturing a healthy Biblical congregation in our community.

The church was opened in October 1909 in a corrugated iron building until the new church was built in 1927.

The Minister, Rev George Shapcott, raised money for the new church. Part of the money, £2500, was donated by a Jewish butcher whom Rev Shapcott befriended during the First World War.

The corrugated building later became the hall for church activities until a new hall was built in 1964 with money from the sale of the old Park Lane Methodist Church in Wembley.

Over the years the church became known for its annual bazaar, concerts, choir, Boys' Brigade and Sunday School. Although the war years reduced the membership, there has since been steady growth in people attending Sunday worship.

There have been many changes to the building over the years, including the transformation of the front entrance to create a lounge area. We remain a multicultural church and welcome everyone into our fellowship.
